Get to know me.
Meet Allison
I have always had an intuitive desire to provide support to others. I started my career working as a school counselor and coach in a public high school setting helping adolescents with anxiety, depression, life transitions, athletic performance, and trauma. Working in a school system affirmed my desire to transition environments to private practice and work individually with adolescents and adults struggling to meet their mental and emotional needs.
I absolutely love what I do. While in session, you will be able to sense my devotion to my craft and commitment to you as a client. I am present, in the moment, and believe in making real-time observations to bring attention to your counseling needs. You can expect attentive engagement from me for the duration of your session.
The most common feedback I get from those who have worked with me is that I am approachable, accepting, insightful, supportive, and not afraid to challenge you as needed in a healthy way. I strongly believe in remaining flexible to adjust my counseling approach to meet your specific needs.
Iām grateful to have devoted my life to helping others address their needs, recognize their strengths, and develop ways to live a full and meaningful life.
My therapeutic style
I am passionate about the relationship between a healthy body and mind. I use mindfulness principles in my practice to deepen that connection. I believe when you authentically allow yourself to be open and feel your feelings, you cultivate a deeper and more connected relationships with yourself and others.
I facilitate an empathetic experience for you to explore who you are as an individual and make healthy choices for your future. My goal is to help you shift any unhealthy beliefs and behaviors to reach your desired counseling goals.
My office is an open, affirmative place where you are safe to express your true self without fear of judgment. I offer a semi-structured counseling style to meet you where you are while I walk alongside you and help you make long lasting, positive change.
